An den Zäunen rütteln

The exhibition “An den Zäunen rüttelnd” (Rattling the Fences), which we open on Friday, September 9 at 6 pm, developped out of conversations with Valio Tchenkov, who also curates it. On view are works by Stephan Conrady, Benedikt Gahl, Pravdoliub Ivanov, Valio Tchenkov and Lisa Walker.
It’s about contradictions, resistance and borderlines between branches of art and aesthetic positions. Our conversations ranged from the discrepancy between work and artist, to questions of “good” taste, to political thoughts – reflections on notions of political correctness, critical thinking, and vigilant courage included. We are interested in contrasts, but also in unexpected possibilities of bridges and connections.
For the first time we show works by Lisa Walker. The New Zealand artist, has explored the boundary between jewelry and art like no other,
